Printing pages from this site
The results you get when printing from a web site depend on the browser you're
using - this site was designed to be viewed using Internet Explorer 5+ which
can be downloaded free
- and the make/model of your printer. Colour printers may not reproduce background
colours. Newer printers and most recent browser versions will often manage the
process for you to deliver best results.
Incomplete pages The most common problem visitors encounter is that the right hand side of the web page cuts off when printing. That will happen if you try and print the Home Page. There are a number of ways to overcome this, the easiest being to set your print orientation to 'landscape'
'Landscape' printing You'll find the orientation control by going into your File menu and selecting Print. On the window that appears, click on the Properties button and look through the dialog box for the Portrait or Landscape selection button. Some printer software offers the same choice under Page Setup (also under the File menu). Once you've selected 'Landscape', all pages printed from your browser will be in landscape orientation until you either change the setting or quit the program (it will default back to Portrait when you next use it).
Adobe Acrobat PDFs Many road race results, entry forms etc are provided as Adobe PDF (Portable Document Format) files, a format that preserves all the fonts, formatting, graphics and colour of a document. This means that when you download and print a PDF file, it will look the way it should, irrespective of your system or printer. To view and print PDFs, you'll need to download the free Adobe Acrobat® Reader® software. Once you've installed this software, always ensure that the 'Fit to page' option is selected before printing (this is the default, but it's worth checking).
